The project includes the construction of 36 single room occupancy units in a one building configuration at 50 Church Street, Greenville, SC 29609. The project is a two-story structure that is equipped with a fully automatic sprinkler system, Eighteen studio residential units are located on each floor with a security entrance, offices, warming kitchen, and community room located on the ground floor. This building will provide permanent supportive housing for people experiencing chronic homelessness. The two-story section containing all living units is constructed of wood framing with brick veneer – and the single-story portion will be wood framing with corrugated metal siding. A breakdown of the residential units are as follows: thirty-one (31) efficiency units, four (4) mobility impaired units, and one (1) sensory impaired unit. Church Street Place will target National Green Building
Standard (NGBS) Bronze Level. Energy Star Certification will be a condition precedent
to NGBS.
United Housing Connections was awarded NHTF funds through SC State Housing Finance & Development Authority for construction and federal requirements will apply.
